Terrorist Attack on a Nuclear Plant?

Okay all you pro-nuke folks that keep posting on my blog, answer me this: What would happen if terrorists attacked a nuclear reactor? I mean really attacked it. Say it exploded even. What would happen? Would it be worse than if they attacked another type of energy plant? I know what my answer is, but since you guys are all so smart, please tell me how it would go down.

What kind of attack? How deep an analysis do you want? What kind of reactor? What kind of explosion (simple mass-on-mass or part of it survives to explode in a LOCA)?

An attack on another type of power plant wouldn't be done the same way, one would think, so it depends on how what was attacked with what.

And no, we don't claim to be smarter than you.

In Gulf War #1, the United States tried to blow up Saddam's Osirak
nuclear installation.
The first attack by some 17 planes, dropping 50 bombs, had no effect.
The second day smart bombs were brought in,
but still did not penetrate containment.
A month was allowed to go by,
and over 100 sorties were then flown on Osirak,
finally destroying it.

Its like Mohammed Atta were given a 200 plane air force,
smart bombs, air support,
radar support,
landing & takeoff privileges,
and STILL could not hurt Indian Point.

Go figure

Sara-
Answer this-- Why would a terrorist want to attack a nuclear power plant?

Nuclear power plants are not very good targets for terror.

Forget the facts
Paid advocates have filled Sara's "inner vision"
with an obsessive cartoon.

It matters not that it cannot happen...
Sara must exhaust every single permutation,
all alternate universes,
all conceivable and all inconceivable possibilities,

because a creative, professional
Public Relations liar,
long schooled in manipulating the young,
with a monthly quota of pledge checks to collect
must make her think of nothing but
the fear that brings the checks,
the fear that brings the pledges,
the fear that starts the blogs,
so he can be
a wealthy professional snake oil salesman.
